Funconf is a conference on a bus, in Ireland.
Follow @funconf for more info.
Whilst embarking on a bus-tour of the Irish countryside, 70 attendees will listen to stories from some of the brightest folks of the online world. The emphasis is on getting up close and personal with the speakers. Each talk, or story, will have only places for 35 attendees, creating an intimate, informal atmosphere: a moving, limousine-style bus bus, literally.
The trip will start with breakfast in Dublin, before attendees embark on their story-telling tour. Along the way, the ‘conference’ will stop in Kilkenny for a traditional Irish lunch and in Waterford for the day’s ‘keynote’, before heading back to Dublin for a dinner and wrap up event in Dublin’s Guinness Gravity bar.
Speakers on the day will include Michael Lopp (aka Rands), author of Managing Humans and blogger atRands in Repose, Marshall Kirkpatrick, lead writer onReadWriteWeb.com, Jonathan Siegel, serial entrepreneur and founder of ELC Technologies and Joe Stump, former Lead Developer of Digg, co-founder ofSimpleGeo. Also speaking will be Tom Preston-Werner, one of the founders of Github and Amy Hoy, the designer/developer behind Twistori and Freckle.
