As an Ironman himself, Chef Ryan knows that what you do before and after a race are just important as the race itself! Along with the guidance of Linda Samuels, this is a unique class where you’ll learn how to fuel first, and then properly recover with delicious recipes highlighting the functionality behind each of the ingredients.
With our interactive workshop and hands-on cooking class format, you will become your own personal guru in sports nutrition! Learn the basic science on how our bodies utilize calories differently, before, during and after training. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to create realistic strategies for incorporating nutrition into your busy lifestyle in balance with your training schedule.
Linda Samuels' (MS, RD, LDN, METS) experience stretches from advanced training at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to Multisport University where she was mentored by renowned sports dietitian & author, Bob Seebohar, and most recently with her current position as Team Nutritionist for Northwestern University's Triathlon Team.
The "Centered Chef" Ryan Hutmacher is CEO & Founder of the Centered Chef culinary studio in Chicago, IL. His expertise has been featured on local and national networks including NBC, WGN, CLTV, WCIU, CBS and FOX, where he showcases functional ingredients that can be prepared both easily and healthfully. He's a contributor to publications including Chicago Athlete, USAT "Fuel Station" and Competitor Magazine and has been featured by Crain's Business Chicago and Triathlete Magazine, for his work as an entrepreneur. As an Ironman and marathoner, he actively participates in the Chicago endurance sport community.
