This free hands-on PerkinElmer Seminar will focus on the use of FTIR for quality control and quality assurance for Pharmaceutical, Dietary Supplement, and Botanical manufacturers and third-party testing laboratories. Learn about technologies needed to meet compliance of cGMP regulations for raw material and final product testing. Expand your knowledge of identity testing by learning from an acknowledged FTIR expert.

“Fundamentals of FTIR Analysis of Dietary Supplements: A Hands-On Workshop.”
In the morning learn the advantages and disadvantages of FTIR, how an FTIR works, how to optimize spectral quality, and how to spot and troubleshoot instrument problems. In the afternoon learn how to prepare samples and run an FTIR in our hands-on workshop. The session will be very informal and attendees are encouraged to bring and run their own samples.
Your Instructor: Dr. Brian C. Smith is Senior Infrared Product Specialist for PerkinElmer’s western region, He has over 35 year’s experience as an infrared spectroscopist. Prior to joining PerkinElmer, Dr. Smith ran an FTIR training and consulting company where thousands of people from around the world benefitted from his FTIR courses. Dr. Smith has written three books on infrared spectroscopy,and earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Dartmouth College.
