INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PLAN PROGRAM – Initiated in 2009, students from 40 universities and 31 countries have participated in this program, increasing in diversity and participation each of its first 4 years. Teams of 4-5 students are paired with a mentor from the business community to develop a 10-12 page business plan, which addresses environmental sustainability and an international component. Teams are awarded bonus points for including multiple nationalities and universities on their team, more closely simulating a multi-national working environment. Student teams compete for over $20,000 in prize money and may be eligible for course credit. Companies that have participated as mentors to teams include:
CPS Energy, Boeing, CETEC, H-E-B, Kinetic Concepts, Inc., Port San Antonio, ProNucleotein Biotechnologies, Enertis Solar, Rackspace Hosting, AstraZenica Pharmaceuticals, The Capital Group, Proctor & Gamble, Seno Medical, Bexar County Economic Development, Scholastic Books and Valero.
