One of our core beliefs at IF University is "Ideas are everywhere and anywhere can be a classroom." So, how does an entrepreneur and developer like Gill Holland get interested in a historic neighborhood like Portland, just west of downtown Louisville, and envision massive change? Join IF University on a developer-led tour as Holland explains his ideas for bringing new love, new investment to what he calls "arguably the most historic area of Louisville." More than a class on urban development, this is a discussion about new ways of seeing. Join us on a guided tour of Portland and see where new ideas are taking shape.
FACILITATOR: Gill Holland is the founder and owner of The Group Entertainment and sonaBLAST!, a film, music, arts and media company. In 2008, he and his wife, Augusta Brown Holland opened the Green Building on Louisville's East Market Street, which became the centerpiece of the revitalization of the area now known as NuLu. Holland has created the "Portland Development Initiative," a $24 million project to revitalize the Portland neighborhood of Louisville.
The tour will originate and end at the Tim Faulkner Gallery, 1512 Portland Avenue, Louisville, KY 40203.
