From Invisible to Invincible, Documentary Screening
Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM (PDT)
Los Angeles, CA
Jovenes Inc would like to invite you to a screening of our documentary From Invisible to Invincible.
Our youth co-created the documentary From Invisible to Invincible, sharing their experience of being homeless while showcasing their resilience and creating awareness and support for all homeless youth. This is an opportunity to see how homelessness impacts our youth and to learn more about the state of youth homelessness in Los Angeles. It is an example of how arts, internships, and leadership development can impact youths' short and long-term goals. As Jovenes continues to develop permanent supportive housing that complements short-term shelters, the agency employs best practices that help youth get off the streets and into a home of their own. We see this as an opportunity to network, hear from youth, and discuss the challenges facing homeless youth in LA. Our goal is to find solutions to these challenges to improve the lives of homeless youth throughout Los Angeles through policy and systems changes.
All of the artwork in this film was created by the youth storytellers - THE INVINCIBLES!
