Forgiveness. . . Healing. . .Reconciliation. In the face of violence, these may seem like remote possibilities. Yet, Mary Johnson and Oshea Israel are proof that it is possible. From Death to Life is an organization dedicated to ending violence through healing and reconciliation between families of victims and those who have caused harm. It was founded by Mary in 2005, shortly before she came to forgive Oshea, the young man who took her only son’s life 12 years earlier. She now claims Oshea as her “spiritual son” and together they share their inspiring story of healing and reconciliation in the community.
During this Easter season of resurrection, their story is one of new life, new possibilities and new hope. Come hear their inspirational story and join us for a meal and conversation.
Dinner: 5:15-6:00 pm
Program: 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Seminary of the Streets is a collaborative effort born in the Minneapolis Area Synod to connect church members from urban and suburban contexts, stimulate discussion and innovative ideas, and sustain those for whom staying in their own "box" is not enough. We meet the 2nd Thursday of each month! Everyone is welcome.
