Happy New Year...
Our first Converge presenter this year is Jesse Harrington Au who is an industrial designer and 'Autodesk Maker Advocate'. Enabling makers, tinkerers and hobbyist to discover Computer Aided Design.
Jesse Harrington Au is a fourteen-year veteran of using CAD for engineering, character development and animation. Jesse speaks, blogs, writes curriculum, gives workshops and makes creations of all kinds through his work with Autodesk.
Jesse has created amazing interactive designs for clients of all sizes including the Exploratorium, Resident Evil Studios, Mathalete andCatapult design. He has also given groundbreaking workshops such as en-light-enment, which focused on introducing the idea of pedal power technology as a teaching platform at the Future of Energy Leadership Conference in Pristina, Kosovo.
In his workshop for ConvergeSF, Jesse will be talking about the future of personal design and fabrication such as 3D printing and how it may just lead to the next industrial revolution. Through accessibility to cloud knowledge banks and locations like TechShop's Maker spaces and Hacker spaces it has never been easier to be your own designer. In this talk we will several examples of new product designs launched from very unlikely sources as well as innovations that have and will change our immediate futures. "
