FARMHOUSE BEERS AND FARMHOUSE CHEESES at Piccino Cafe

Wed. October 3  ∣  5:30 PM - 7:00 PM  ∣  $45  ∣  1001 Minnesota St.  S.F.  94107

Beers and cheeses made on the farm have been integral to the agrarian way of life since its inception. The flavors of these fermented products are elegant and rustic at the same time, showcasing the finesse of herbal, fruity, and tart flavors underlain by an earthier, wilder-tasting foundation. Join us at Piccino Cafe, the Dogpatch’s farm-inspired Italian restaurant, for a tasting of six American beers brewed with the grain, yeast, and inspirations of the farms of the Belgian and French grain fields. The beers will be paired with one French and two Italian cheeses that are redolent of the earth, herbs, and milk of European countryside, as well as some accompaniments from Piccino’s pastry kitchen. Higgins, Castro, and Piccino’s beer and wine guy James Butler will share their knowledge and lead the tasting discussion.

  • 3 plated cheese courses paired with 6 beers in an intimate, seated seminar
  • Enjoy tableside presentation and discussion led by Master Cicerone Rich Higgins, Piccino Beer and Wine Guy James Butler, and beer expert Heather Castro
  • Printed program with beer and cheese information and tasting notes
