Let’s be honest with ourselves: we are all going to eat WAY too much over the holiday season. What better way to work off that extra holiday chunk and keep your New Year’s resolution than to stop raiding the fridge and get your fanny frigid!?
The Frigid Fanny 5k Trail Race will take place in Sundown Meadow Forest Preserve on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 11am. The beautiful trails of Sundown Meadow provide a nice mix of single track and double track trails that will take you over roots, rocks, downed trees, and make you glad that you skipped another training run on the lake front to hit the trails. The trails will be well marked and are friendly enough for the beginning trail runner while also challenging enough for the seasoned trail nut.
Following the race there will be free food, snacks, and soft drinks. All trail runners of legal age will be given one free beer with more beer available for purchase. Results will be live streamed on our big screen on site as well as online so that you don’t have to wait until Monday to rub your accomplishment in your co-worker’s face or humblebrag your accomplishment on Facebook.
All runners will receive a Frigid Fanny long sleeve t-shirt, a Frigid Fanny race bib, a finisher’s award, free food, snacks, and soft drinks, and one free beer (for participants over 21 years of age).
All finishers will have this race count towards the Fratrum Minorum and Plenary Indulgence challenges.
A course map and participant waiver will be posted at least one month before the race.
Registration is only $28. Get a group of 5 or more together and registration is only $25. All season pass codes are active for this race.
This race is capped at 500 participants, so be sure to register quickly as our races have been selling out weeks before the race.
When & Where
We love people. We love Chicago. We love trail running. And we love good beer. We thought it would be a good idea to combine them all. Why not, right?
Our goal is to provide Chicagoland with the best possible trail running experience. From the course design to the staff at the aid stations to the beer served at the after party, our #1 goal is for you to have the best time possible.
We are partnering with local small businesses in the Chicagoland area to start a series of trail races beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hope to see you on the trail soon!
