On Friday night, Natural Gourmet Institute is transformed into an intimate dining room, where NGI’s Chef’s Training Program students and instructors prepare a three-course vegetarian Friday Night Dinner that is innovative, delicious and beautifully presented.
Dinners are Prix Fixe and BYOB.
Menu: Summer Passion Treat (Vegan and Gluten-Free Ingredients)
Cucumber Mint Gazpacho Soup
Cashew Cream on Toast topped with Green Peas
Kebabs with Aged Tofu, Crispy Tofu and Summer Vegetables with Cherry Chipotle Barbeque Sauce
Quinoa Pilaf with Corn
Kale Salad with Avocado Dressing
Vanilla Bean Coconut Ice Cream Sandwich with Chocolate Dipped Cardamom Cookies
Peach and Apricot Comport with Mint Sauce
10% of proceeds from tonight's Friday Night Dinner will go to Just Food, a non-profit that empowers and supports community-led efforts to increase access to locally grown food, especially in underserved New York City neighborhoods. Just Food provides training and education to community members to help them launch projects like farmers' markets and CSAs, provide education in basic culinary and urban agriculture skills for their neighbors, and advocate to make their corner of New York City a healthier place to live and eat.
