Can't go to Egypt? No problem. We'll bring Egypt to you!
Emad Samir, Egyptologist and "Scholar in Residence" at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church and Logos Bible Study has taught Egyptology and guided historical and archaeological tours in Egypt for the past 20 years, with clients including both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. In addition to "Egypt, the Cradle of Christianity," Emad is now offering "An Armchair Tour of Egypt." In this quarter-long class Emad will introduce you to the people and places of ancient and biblical Egypt. With him you'll explore Egypt from its beginnings over 5,000 years ago, through its rise to become the most sophisticated, dazzling culture on the face of the earth, to its decline during the Roman period. You'll meet such fascinating characters as Sneferu, builder of the first authentic pyramid; Ramses II, the greatest king of ancient Egypt; and Cleopatra, the fatal attraction of Mark Antony. You'll explore the geography, politics and religion of the first, and perhaps the greatest, empire on earth.
Join Emad as he brings ancient Egypt alive in this extraordinary new Logos class offering. Don't miss it!
