Have you ever wanted to take part in the Freihofer's Run for Women — or any other type of road race — and wondered how best to prepare for the experience? Well here's your opportunity!
A one-hour Training Challenge presentation will be held Thursday, March 13 from 6-7 p.m. at The Record's Community Media Lab on 501 Broadway in Troy.
The session, which will provide an overview of the 4th annual Freihofer’s Training Challenge (http://freihofersrun.com/media_archive/140131.htm), will cover how to get started in a running program and remain injury free. Presenters will include program coaches and experts in sports medicine, nutrition and injury prevention.
Presenters include Freihofer's Run for Women Event Director George Regan; Run for Women Operations Manager Patrick Lynskey; Coach Kristen Hislop; Injury-Prevention Specialist Dr. Tim Maggs, DC; Nurtitionist Chris Cooley, MS, FNP-C; as well as Athletic Trainers Carla Pasquarelli, ATC and Sean Leggett, ATC from St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam.
Free parking will be available in The Record's parking lot and across the street in the parking garage.
