About the instructor:
Will DeBock is a dual alumnus of Marlboro College - graduating with a BA with Highest Honors in Sociology in 1987 and a Master's degree from the Graduate School in 1998. He brings a twofold perspective to the topic. He has been active professionally in online education for over 14 years and started his first personal blog in 2001. On the other hand, his training as a sociologist at Marlboro College and Brandeis University has included much reflection of the role of technology and media (both positive and negative) in modern society. His presentation will offer many practical illustrations to help you think through how and to what extent do you want to engage in these new modes of communication. Will is currently working on a book that applies insights of 19th and early 20th century classical sociological thought to the realm of digital technology and new media.
