5:00pm SANTA CONQUERS THE MARTIANS
7:15 pm EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
9:30 pm SANTA CONQUERS THE MARTIANS
For 28 years the Music Box Theatre has been THE Chicago home for WHITE CHRISTMAS and IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, but for the second year in a row, we present an amazing Alternative Christmas Double Feature. Why? Because not everybody loves singing. Why? Because sometimes you need something other than just Danny Kaye dancing and Jimmy Stewart stopping another poor woman from turning into a librarian. Why? Because most of us at the Music Box are still a little jaded that we never got that remote control car for Christmas 1987.
But for you, and only you friends in the improv community-- students of Second City, iO, and the Annoyance, we offer to you free tickets for the Monday screenings! That's right, the Music Box will offer the first 50 Chicago Improvisers who RSVP here and show up with a student ID from iO, Annoyance, or Second City AND the email RSVP you receive from us after signing up!
Santa Claus Conquers the MartiansDecember 19, 5:00pm; December 19, 9:30pm;
The Martians are irked that their children spend so much time watching TV shows from Earth that sing the praises of Santa Claus, so they decide to make a trek to the planet to capture Mr. Claus. During their mission, they also abduct two children who lead the aliens to the North Pole and Santa. The Martians take all three earthlings back to Mars, where, with the help of a native, they manage to spread Christmas cheer throughout the red planet.
Edward Scissorhands December 19, 7:15pm;
An inventor dies before developing hands for his creation, a boy named Edward who instead has scissors at the end of each arm. Edward lives a monastic existence until an Avon lady adopts him and takes him to live in the pastel paradise of suburbia.

Seating is first come, first served, and the theater will be overbooked to ensure capacity. Please arrive early.** We will continue to give away the 50 tickets until all are given away! So, if only 10 show up for the 5pm screening, we will still have 40 to give away for the 7:15 screening
