Revenge is oh so sweet...
In the 2006 documentary, Who Killed the Electric Car?, viewers witnessed General Motors' mind-blowing decision to repossess 5,000 EV1 electric cars from their happy owners and then painfully crush every last one of them, thus ending GM’s line of energy efficient cars… Less than 5 years later, the electric car is making a global resurgence and changing the future of the automobile. With his 2011 follow-up, Revenge of the Electric Car, director Chris Paine goes behind the closed doors of Nissan, GM, and the Silicon Valley start-up Tesla Motors, as the race is on to develop the most economically accessible electric car. Here, we follow the innovative business models engineered by CEOs and independent entrepreneurs looking to jump-start the electric car industry, getting us off our dependence on foreign oil, and to win over the hearts and minds of the public around the world.
