From Xena to Spider Man or Cat Woman, from Mom or Dad to President Obama: who's your hero?
Celebrate the hero in your life by bringing and sharing your stories, poems, drawings, and written names of your personal sheros and heros. Whether it's a family member, a friend, someone in the community, a national leader, comic book superstar or even Wonder Woman herself- here's your chance to show off your hero! We'll create a community collage with all of your contributions.
All ages welcome.
We're also hosting a COSTUME PARTY. Dress up as your hero for the chance to win the grand prize.
Everyone who comes in costume can enter for the chance to win a prize for BEST COSTUME. Plus, who doesn't want to play dressup?
(Changing rooms are located on the same floor as the screening)
Plus, Limited Edition Eileen Fisher bags will be available on a first come first serve basis!
Wonder Women! The Untold Story of American Superheroines traces the fascinating evolution and legacy of Wonder Woman. From the birth of the comic book superheroine in the 1940s to the blockbusters of today, Wonder Women! examines how popular representations of powerful women often reflect society's anxieties about women's liberation.
After the film, we'll have a community discussion with:
Kristy Guevara-Flanagan, Director of Wonder Women!
Trina Robbins, Comic Book Artist, Writer, Herstorian
Moderated by Andrew Farago, Curator of the Cartoon Art Museum
