Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards celebrates its 50th anniversary this month, and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO), in collaboration with the Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery, is proud to present the “50th Anniversary Salute to Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards” film series from November 15-24. This series presents four previous winners of the coveted Golden Horse Awards: The Terrorizers (Edward Yang, 1986), Vive L’Amour (Tsai Ming-liang, 1994), No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti (Leon Dai, 2009)and GF*BF (Yang Ya-Che, 2012) featuring Gwei Lun Mei, winner of last year’s Golden Horse for Best Leading Actress. TECRO cordially invites you and your friends to attend an opening tea reception on Friday, November 15, from 5:30-7 p.m., before settling in for the digitally restored version of Edward Yang’s internationally-acclaimed The Terrorizers, which won the 1986 Golden Horse Award for Best Feature Film, the 1987 Locarno Film Festival Silver Leopard and the 1987 Asia-Pacific Film Festival’s Best Screenplay. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
