About the Workshop:
Put on your party hat and take life by the lapels! A workshop lead by Allyson Villars, M.S., founder of AnnaBananaCrocodile, LLC, a Career Counseling & Coaching practice.
A down-the-rabbit hole primer for all ages to find their true self in education and the work world. Also great for parents who want to help their kids create bright futures. Includes: 13 highlights to remember about you; how to look for your sparks; and taking yourself seriously in decisions about careers and jobs.
About the Presenter:
Allyson has served the career development profession for over 30 years and has recently completed 6 years directing a youth serving organization in New England managing a staff of 40 running 17 quality, high expectation programs.
Her university teaching, curriculum and course development has included undergraduate and graduate courses in Career Development Theory, Career Planning, Interviewing Theory and Practice, Intercultural Communication, Organizational Gender Issues, Community Building, Psychology of Change, and Group Dynamics. Allyson created 4 of the first Career Centers on 4 University campuses.
Allyson’s work with multi-national industries and governments includes introducing new thinking and behavior regarding coaching, training, the hiring process, and operational career development issues. As an example she assisted a corporation develop a company-wide training program to provide upgrade training for 78% of the 500-person workforce over a two-year period. Allyson has served as the HR Director of a large construction company, the executive of three professional and trade associations, career counselor for the USDA and IRS, and chaired the Employee Committee of the New Orleans Workforce Investment Board.
Allyson is co-author of Careers In The New Economy adopted by Qwest Communications to help employees enhance their career options. She has trained counselors to provide the corresponding workshops in Qwest’s 14 state-market.
As a career counselor, trainer, and consultant, her philosophy is that while she is an expert on the process and her clients (individuals and organizations) are experts on themselves. Working with clients in this way requires them to keep their power and they exit the experience with a heightened awareness of who they are, a definite sense of what they want, and a plan of action to make "it" happen.
