This Start-Up Business Tax Workshop will concentrate on topics specific to help the entrepreneur who has never been in business and is looking for the basic first steps to get going in the right direction when it comes to important issues such as: applying for an employer identification number (EIN), recordkeeping, bookkeeping & accounting, selecting a form of business organization (sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, etc). The entrepreneur will also learn the basics of calculating a net profit or loss for tax purposes as well as self-employment tax and making estimated tax payments.
Pre-registration is best for this workshop to ensure sufficient materials for attendees. Walk-ins are welcome! This free workshop is taught by an instructor qualified to practice before the IRS. IRS will provide small business materials for this workshop.
Class participation along with Q&A may take the class longer. Resources guides made available from SCDOR and SCDEW.
