Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
Philadelphia, United States
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Pedal on over to Temple Contemporary for a free tune-up offered by North Philly's Neighborhood Bike Works.
These tune-ups will include basic adjustments and repairs such as: brake cable adjusts and pad alignment, derailleur limit screw alignment and shifting adjustments, minor wheel truing, tightening down and checking over all fasteners, bearing preload adjusts (not overhaul) for headsets, bottom brackets and hubs, light lubrication of small moving parts and pivots, wiping down and lubricating chains.
Tune-Ups are available on a first come first served basis. Free lights and patch kits will also be given away.
From 12-1 Temple University's Office of Sustainability will be offering a course in safe urban riding techniques. The Tune-Ups start at 1 and will last until 4.
Also on view during the tune-ups will be a selection of biking posters designed by our friends at Canary Project and Green Patriot Posters, videos from bike helmets documenting the infractions of our fellow motorists, and Haley Ticycles' Piano Bike. Why not take a spin while playing your song!
This event is sponsored by Temple Contemporary, Temple University's Office of Sustainability, and Temple University's General Activities Fees. Thanks to all the biking designers at Canary Projects and Green Patriot Posters.
