The fossils in the museum were found in Fremont as early as the 1870’s by Dr. Yates They were “rediscovered” in the 1930’s by UC Berkeley’s Dr. Stirton. Wes Gordon, a teacher would bring his “Boy Paleontologists” to excavate fossils for UC Berkeley in the 1940-60’s. Now a hundred specimens are on display at CNHM in Fremont. Learn about past environments of the bay area.
