Forward Thinking on the Front Range: A Smart Growth Tour
Monday, February 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM - Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 7:00 PM (MST)
Join national walkability experts Dan Burden, Mark Fenton, and Paul Zykofsky February 10-12, 2014. Explore communities on the leading edge of walkable and livable design in the Denver area as a lead-up to the national New Partners for Smart Growth conference.
In addition to discovering and discussing design that works for all people—and some that doesn't work—participants will also complete a half-day training on how to organize, lead, and act upon the findings of a walking audit. Taught by several of the very people who pioneered this powerful community engagement tool, the training module will offer hands-on experience guiding a group through a walk audit to develop visions for community transformation. This training has been approved for 4.0 CM credits for AICP members.
Download the draft tour program here for a closer look at the communities and projects we'll explore.
The tour departs by bus from the Denver International Airport at 1:00 p.m. MST on Monday, February 10 and wraps up the evening of Wednesday, February 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Denver, in time for participants to join the New Partners for Smart Growth conference.
