In the context of a rapidly changing climate, the Sierra Club and 350.org are co-sponsoring the Forward on Climate Rally to demand that President Obama creates a strong climate policy.
The rally will take place in Washington, DC, during Presidents Day weekend (Sunday, February 17).
We will all be playing a pivotal role to make it the largest climate rally in the history of the United States, with an expected attendance of over 20,000.
With President Obama about to begin his second term, it is critical that he hears from his constituents about the importance of championing strong climate policy.
All buses will depart at midnight the evening of February 16th. They will arrive at Union Station in Washington DC at approximately 8:00 am. Participants will then have until 11:30 am to get to the National Mall, where thousands of participants will join together for a rally. There will then be a march to the White House. The event will be concluded by 4:00 pm, at which point we will have two hours to get back to Union Station to depart at 6:00 pm. For more info about the event, please go to: http://action.sierraclub.org/site/PageServer?pagename=forwardonclimate_faq
Note: food and drinks will not be provided. There is a restroom on each bus, as well as storage underneath. You will not be able to access the bus after we have been dropped off at Union Station, until scheduled departure. It is suggested that participants bring a small pillow and blanket for increased comfort, though keep in mind space on the bus will be very limited. Alcohol is not permitted on the bus.
Departure/ drop off locations for Cleveland and Cincinnati are TBD. The Columbus Bus will pick up at the Winchester Pike and Berwick Park Park & Ride (map: http://goo.gl/maps/GU0HN). Bus captains will contact you with more information once you have registered.
Most importantly - be prepared to participate in a once in a lifetime experience and have fun!
