Event Details

Forbidden Zone

Live Q&A with writer/director RICHARD ELFMAN, and Live Shadowcast by Cell 63!

Join the all-talented, all-dancing, all-lip syncing Cell 63 as they reunite for a Live Shadowcast Screening of 1982's FORBIDDEN ZONE!

Forbidden Zone is the inspired brainchild of Richard Elfman, founding member of the legendary Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, who along with writer Matthew Bright (who would later helm the 1996 cult classic "Freeway") mixed in everything from Max Fleisher to Cab Calloway to Josephine Baker to unleash a musical unlike any the world had ever seen. Mix in a typically masterful score by Elfman brother Danny (who makes a fan-favorite appearance...), a dancing frog in a tuxedo, a gorilla, an ex-queen (EX-QUEEN!?!!), and a sex-crazed kingdom ruled by the weirdest royal family in celluloid history, and you have the movie that Film Threat called "The Citizen Kane of Underground Movies."

RICHARD ELFMAN IN PERSON!! Meet the legendary musician/director at the screening, and keep your eyes peeled - you may catch him jumping in with the cast...

PLUS! Get a sneak peek at the upcoming FORBIDDEN ZONE 2: THE FORBIDDEN GALAXY, with actress Erin "Princess Polly" Holt in person!

Dir: Richard Elfman

USA, 73 minutes.  Remastered color.
