Come down to Fat Cat at 6:30pm on Wednesday October 9th to learn more about the full sustainable food cycle!
We will have presentations from Fat Cat's Chef and the FWD Uptown Chicago Conservation Corps team! There will be a full size, functional food waste disposer to try out. This project focuses on food waste reduction and community involvement. The demonstration will highlight the benefits of using a food waste disposer to help divert food waste from landfills. Head Chef Erica Fischer will discuss the farmer-to-table model that Fat Cat follows. Crystal Nells of C & D Family Farms, a local farmer, will also speak about why and how she raises hogs sustainably.
Not to mention: great bites from the Fat Cat menu and attendance gets you entered into great raffles!
Qualifying residents will receive a FREE, FULLY INSTALLED FOOD WASTE DISPOSER WITH A FULL WARRANTY. This waste research project lies within the boundaries of Lawrence to the South, Foster to the North, Broadway to the East, and Clark to the West. Each eligible resident living within these boundaries must also have their trash currently picked up by the City of Chicago.
To see if you qualify, fill out our survey here!
Street parking available, CTA Red line to Lawrence or Argyle, #81 Lawrence or #36 Broadway bus, and Ravenswood Metra.
