Food for Life: Diabetes Initiative
The Power of Food for Diabetes Prevention and Treatment
Instructor : Jennie Steinhagen
EAP Partner : Mera Samaroo
Do you have diabetes? Does your loved one? Are you concerned about developing diabetes or convinced that it’s inevitable?
Join us as we explore (and taste) how a plant-based diet can have significant and lasting effects on your overall health!
A plant-based diet has been endorsed by the American Dietetic Association and has been described as a safe choice in the 2009 American Diabetes Association's Standards of Care for Diabetes. It has been proven to be as acceptable as the more common portion-controlled diet!
Each class in the Diabetes Initiative offers a cooking demonstration, and provides multiplesamples of delicious, health-promoting dishes, along with a take-home packet of easy and affordable recipes.
