Event Details

Jump, roll, fly, and flow with grace, power, and creativity. Flow MUVZ is a series of bodyweight-based sequences that move through space and prepare you to transcend your muvz through dance.

Join Kathy Lucas at the one and only Wolf Fitness Systems, Salinas, CA for a fun-filled, challenging and energetic Flow to Transcendance movement intensive. Tap into what MUVZ you through movement flows and the spirit of choreographed dance combinations. Flow MUVZ provides the strength, grace, mindfulness, and stamina which lays the foundation for dance. The first day of the Flow to Transcendance  intensive looks like this:

Flow MUVZ (Day 1)

    "Static-Presence" mobility warmups vs. "Active-Presence" mobility warmups.
    Practicing signature bodyweight Flow MUVZ.
    "Anchored MUVZ" vs "Sprawling MUVZ" (Learning to focus energy and movement effort within your own space to then direct your muvz across the floor.)
    Sequencing.
    Freeing your sequence by using the full space.
    Exploring and adding YOUR "signature" to the MUVZ experience.

As we move onto Day 2, we apply the foundations from Day 1 to dance! Dance can be learned and enjoyed by ANYONE using a few key techniques . If in the past you have always wanted to take a dance class but have been hesitant for one reason or another, rest assured you are ready for Transcendance! All of us have the ability to tap into our inner dancer. Once we take the techniques, breath, and allow the class to be an "experiment in experience" the joy emerges and our hearts are free to explore and express dance. As you discover and explore these techinques, you are eventually able to let go of the mind and invite your authentic expression to shine with fun, creative, and powerful dance

Transcendance (Day 2)

    "Static-Presence" mobility warmups vs. "Active-Presence" mobility warmups.
    Understanding weight-shifts through movements and sequences.
    Identifying movement efforts and using breath to support choreography.
    The difference between sequences and choreography.
    Moving across the floor with basic choreography in groups.
    Putting a "signature" on your authentic movement through choreography.
    Learning a fun, powerful dance combination and making it your own!
