Doors open at 9:00 am.  Vendors will display the latest products for use on pomegranates for commercial producers and homeowners.

Program begins at 10 am.  The Florida Pomegranate Association will provide an educational program that this year is a mixture of presentations for the commercial grower and the homeowner/master gardener. Among the topics are sessions on cultivars that appear to be best to plant in our region, a cooperative evaluation project, propagation, plant cultural management and marketing.  Arrangements are being pursued to have a chef demonstrate culinary uses of the pomegranate.

Featured Speaker.  Kevin Day of the University of California Cooperative Extension Service, Tulare County, will present an overview of the California pomegranate industry and pomegranate cultural management with special emphasis on pruning and canopy management.  

Fruit Tasting.  The seeds of fruit obtained from several sources will be available for tasting and evaluation.   This will provide an opportunity to experience tree-ripe local fruit in order to encourage the sale and planting of the best fruit varieties.

The Pomegranate Association meeting is scheduled for 11:30 am.  Contact Cindy Weinstein for more information (


Pre-registration is preferred for the meeting and conference.  Pre-registration is required if you would like lunch.

Registration, which includes lunch, is $20.00 for members. (Members may register one guest at the member’s admission price of $20.)

Pre-registration for guest not associated with a member is $25.00 and entrance at the door is $30.00.

All current and prospective growers, nurseries, commercial investors, homeowners and Master Gardeners are encouraged to attend.
