The 2nd annual FIRST Women in Technology luncheon honors female FIRST robotics competition participants for their persistence in a STEM program. The luncheon provides an opportunity for the young women to learn more about technology careers from professionals through tableside mentoring and a special address from keynote speaker Susan Pope, Assistant Director - Department of Space Science, Southwest Research Institute. The event is open to the first 150 Alamo FIRST Robotics student registrants and 50 workplace mentors. Tax-deductiable charitable donations to support the event are also welcomed and can be made via credit card through the registration page.

SASTEMIC is a San Antonio 501(c)3 non-profit STEM connectory dedicated to building partnerships and fostering collaboration among industry, military, academia and the community through sySTEMic efforts and outreach. SASTEMIC exists to create collective impact in the greater San Antonio, TX area for the STEM community. We accomplish this mission by supporting business, community and education leaders providing STEM-related opportunities, connecting experiences to local economic and workforce talent development needs.
The event is co-hosted by San Antonio Women in Information Technology, a group of IT professionals (women and men) that exists to encourage women of all ages to seek a career in IT and to provide support and networking through their education, career, and beyond.
