About Edna Johnson:
Edna Johnson is the head of communications and brands at Michelin North America. As such, she is responsible for all communication and brand activities as well as corporate social responsibility initiatives for all Michelin products and services, including tires for airplanes, passenger cars, bicycles, Earthmovers, heavy-duty trucks and motorcycles, and for Michelin travel, hotel and restaurant guides in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Edna joined Michelin in 2011 and reports to the chairman of Michelin North America.
Before joining Michelin, Edna was the senior vice president of marketing and communications for The College Board, the largest provider of educational products and services in the United States. Her previous roles include serving as the global head of communications for Burger King Corporation through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) and as the vice president of public relations for The CNN News Group.
Edna began her career as a newspaper reporter and editor. She then served for more than a decade as a professor of journalism at Auburn University. During her time at Auburn University, she was the principal in a communications consulting business whose clients included a number of Fortune 500 companies.
Edna graduated with highest honors from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She lives in Greenville, S.C., and in New York.
