David Trone, Founder and CEO of Total Wine & More, has been involved in the alcoholic beverage business since 1985. Together with his brother Robert, he entered the wine business in 1991 when they opened two retail wine stores in Delaware. They gradually expanded their stores, adding a greater selection of fine wines. By the end of 2012, Total Wine & More will have 89 stores across 14 states and is the largest independent wine retailer in the country. Total Wine & More has been named “Wine Retailer of the Year” in The Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Market Watch Magazine and in Beverage Dynamics. Mr. Trone graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree from Furman University and received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Trone serves on the Furman University Board of Trustees.
