Firefly presents BOTTLE BATTLE 2 featuring Gina Chersevani vs Matt Carroll

Chef Danny Bortnick of Firefly Restaurant will prepare a five-course fundraising dinner with 100% of the profits going to the Susan G Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure™, which Bortnick and his wife will participate in this fall.
This, however, will not be your ordinary multi-course tasting menu. In a true test of what pairs best, two of the region’s most notable beverage experts will go head to head in a “bottle battle” of cocktails vs. wine. The spirit of the evening is a friendly competition, where only the best pairing will win. From Alexandria, Brabo Restaurant's esteemed Sommelier, Matt Carroll, will select his perfect varietal for each course, while Washington DC's most talented and entertaining mixologist, Gina Chersevani will present her favorite cocktail pairing.
Guests will enjoy a reception of passed canapés and sparkling wine, followed by five dually paired courses. A lively discussion of each pairing will be detailed by both competitors. In the end, guests will elect their favorite and votes will be tallied, deeming either wine or beer as the victor. A silent auction will also be held, including hotel stays, restaurant gift certificates, wine and jewelry. Tickets are $100 per person, all inclusive.

bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese
grilled octopus, avocado, olive, garlic chip
beef tartare, brioche cubes
chicken liver toast, pickled ramp
heirloom tomato and basil bread salad,
house made mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil
sweet corn & blue crab risotto, crispy baby corn, truffle oil
pan roasted halibut, fava bean pesto,
fingerling potato, baby beets, wilted greens
mini pot roast with celery root-potato puree,
baby carrots, roasted shallot jus
peach cobbler, oat streusel, lemon verbena ice cream
