We’re excited to announce that on September 19-21 we’ll be hosting the third FinishUp Weekend.
So what is Finish Up Weekend!?
Many of us have been to hackathons, Startup Weekends, and similar events which teach you how to start something, test ideas, and build a prototype. Unfortunately, things often end there. Even worse, now you've added to that list of "someday" projects that never seems to shrink.
Well Today is Someday.
Finish Up Weekend is a weekend event dedicated to finishing something. Honestly, we don't care what. At previous FU's, we had everyone from developers and designers to artists and lawyers to social entrepreneurs. The key thing that brought everyone together is the desire to finish something.. to knock something off that todo list.. to be able stand up and say "it's done!"
So come join us for the third FU Weekend and just Finish Something!
The plan is basically the same as last time with a couple small changes:
- First, we’ll have a social event on Friday night at the Clarify headquarters at 5th & Pedernales. It’s a little east of downtown but has ample parking, good food, and cold beverages. It’s hard to beat.
- Next, we’ll kick off bright and early on Saturday morning at 9am at Spanning at 8th & Congress. We’ll have some intros, some explanations, and get to finishing things. Remember, you’re not allowed to start a new project. ;)
- Finally, on Sunday morning, we’ll kick off again at 9am at Spanning and finish some more things. At 5pm, we’ll take a break and anyone is welcome to demo what they’ve finished over the weekend.
The most important thing to know is the simplest: All are welcome.
Last time around we had developers, designers, writers, social entrepreneurs, artists, and a flock of others. The only requirement is that you bring a project to FINISH.
If you or your organization are interesting in sponsoring, please drop me a note at email@example.com This effort is a labor of love but it isn’t free.
