Finding Funding, Creating Change: Getting Investors for Your film
Wednesday, March 28, 6:30 – 8:00PM
Followed by a workshop season kick-off reception!
What happens when you’re passionate about a social justice issue and want to make a film to inspire others – but can’t find the funding to do so? Impact Partners is dedicated to bringing together filmmakers and film investors/philanthropists who want to create change. Films that address pressing social issues have never reached larger audiences or had greater social impact than they do today and Impact Partners works to provide both financing and guidance to filmmakers to create powerful films and reach a wide range of audiences; and to investors the opportunity to participate in financing great documentaries.
Impact Partners has helped finance a wide range of award-winning films, including the Academy Award-nominated HELL AND BACK AGAIN and THE GARDEN and, more recently Sundance 2012 hits, QUEEN OF VERSAILLES, DETROPIA and HOW TO SURVIVE A PLAGUE. They welcome unsolicited submissions. Come join Jenny Raskin, Head of Development, and hear all about their process, what kind of projects they are looking for and how they choose them.
