Conflict Resolution Tools to Improve Relationships & Parenting
While some of us prefer to avoid conflict, not only is it an undeniable part of being human, it’s a key ingredient in meaningful relationships. In fact, relationship satisfaction is tied to how well we resolve, and limit the negative impact, of conflicts.
So if we’re keen on connecting with our spouses and kids, a great goal around conflict is less to stop fighting, and more to learn techniques to “fight right,” i.e., to find healthy ways to disagree that enhance connection instead of damage relationships. Doing so contributes to our coparenting success and relationship fulfillment.
Fighting right is especially crucial for parents, since our kids learn how to “do” conflict by watching us. The more skilled we are in navigating conflict, the better they’ll learn to disagree constructively and accept differences respectfully.
Fight Right is a fun and engaging two-hour workshop led by Parent Advocate, Rhona Berens, PhD, CPCC. The topics we'll cover include: Recognizing the difference between destructive and constructive conflict, honing our conflict resolution skills and learning tools to "fight right" and compromise without resentment. In Fight Right, Rhona will help parents disagree in ways that serve our relationships and enhance parenting--and coparenting--success.
