9:00 - 10:30 The Global and National Context of Local Human Trafficking Issues

The session explores the impact of human trafficking on our daily lives, economy .and communities. The panel speakers bring expertise and experience from a global, national, and local perspective.

10:40- 12:00 The AUTC Spotlight Series: Human Trafficking in Public Policy and Law

This session examines the impact of human trafficking public policy, public resources, and law on communities and individual behavior.

12-12:15 Break

 

12:15 – 1:15  Legal and Ethical Aspects of Human Trafficking for Organizations and Communities

 

This working lunch focuses on the reliance of anti human trafficking efforts on business and community support, awareness of labor and sex trafficking, and understanding of public policy.

1:15 – 1:30 Break

 

 

1:30 – 3:30 Taking Sustainable Actions: Training Sessions for Stakeholders

 

Session A: Training for law enforcement and human services professionals. Participants will practice interpreting signs of trafficking and identifying red flags, and gain sensitivity in talking with victims/survivors. (MN POST continuing education credit)

 

Facilitators:

 

Session B: Training for business professionals and other stakeholders on recognizing and reporting trafficking by foreign and domestic outsource vendors. The focus of this session will be the legal and ethical responsibilities of businesses, as well as bottom line considerations.
