American Islamic Congress cordially invites you to:
Fifth Annual Mimouna Celebration
Art, Music, Fashion, and Food
"Mimouna" is a unique and historic Moroccan holiday where Jewish and Muslim communities would together mark the end of Passover. In 2009, Muslims and Jews, with roots in North Africa, began to revive Mimouna's interfaith tradition here in Boston.
This year's celebration spotlights the opening of a new art exhibit by Chamae Mechtaly, a local Moroccan artist with both Muslim and Jewish roots, part of AIC's on-going "Muslim Women in the Arts" series. The reception will include traditional Moroccan treats (including some kosher food), musical performance by Amoud Band, henna tattoos, and more.
Thank You to all of our wonderful co-sponsors and community partners: AntiDefmation League of New England, Moroccan Caravan, Moroccan Hospitality Restaurant, as well as numerous community members .
