Where can I park? 
Free parking is available around the NC State Fairgrounds.

Where is the handicap parking located?
Handicap parking is located in front of the Expo building behind the Atmel and STEM Bus exhibits.

What if it rains? 
The show will go on! Fortunately, most of our exhibits are indoors to keep the family dry.

What can I expect?
To have the time of your life! You'll be surprised and intrigued with every corner that you turn.

Can I bring my pet?
Pets can't be allowed for very sound safety reasons.  Assistive animals are, of course, permitted.

Where can I stay?
There are a few hotels near the Maker Faire:NC venue plus Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill offer numerous hotels.  See our website's Attend section for more information on discount rates, etc.

Where can I pick up my T-Shirt?
Shirt pickup is at the information booth which is in the corner of the venue on the left as you enter.

Where can I park my RV?
The NC Fairgrounds offers recreational vehicle hook-up access for visits of 14 days or less with water, sewer and electrical access available on more than 350 sites (electricity access ranges from 30 - 50 amps). .A new campground area was added in 2010. Individual units should check in with Fairgrounds Public Safety at 919-612-6767. Clubs and groups should contact the Fairgrounds at 919-821-7400 prior to arrival to reserve space.

Will there be Wi-Fi available?
The short answer is 'sort of'.  The fairgrounds provides open Wi-Fi but we can't guarantee your happiness with its quality.  Maker Faire NC provides password-protected Wi-Fi for Makers and other exhibitors.

Do you offer discounts for groups, clubs, or educational organizations?
Yes!  Please See out Site to contact us about discount codes available for groups of 10 or larger, and for teachers and their classes.

Maker Faire:NC is a "Mini" Maker Faire and is North Carolina’s celebration of everything made.  We aim to bring all the enthusiasm and all the fun on a slightly smaller scale.  Every year at Maker Faire North Carolina Makers, Crafters, Inventors, Evil Geniuses, Scientists and Artists come together for a day of family-friendly fun and inspiration. From home-made cookies to home-made robots, Maker Faire: NC promises something for everyone in a showcase of the American creative spirit.

About Maker Faire:

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

The original Maker Faire event was heldin San Mateo, CA and in 2012 celebrated its seventh annual show with some 800 makers and 110,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagshipevent, has grown in three years to 500+ makers and 55,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Newcastle (UK), and Tokyo are the home of “featured” Maker Faires (200+ makers), and community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world—including right here in North Carolina.

Maker Faire is organized by MAKE magazine and supported by O'Reilly Media.
