 The FEMA Individual Assistance Training will cover:

  • The PDA process
  • Compiling and documenting information for the Declaration request
  • Pre-identification of:

o   Shelter locations

§  Human

§  Pet

o   POD locations:

§  POD staffing

§  Bulk distribution of commodities

§  Distribution of donated goods

§  Distribution of medical supplies

o   DRC/LAC locations

  • Feeding locations
  • Supporting a Stafford Act disaster housing mission to include but not limited to:
  • Establishment of a local Disaster Housing Task Force
  • Permit, building, construction and inspection requirements and waivers

o   Types of housing acceptable for temporary use

o   Community coordination (i.e. residential and political acceptance and concurrence)

o   Locations for the development of Group Sites

o   Coordination with private sectors such as;

§  Local real estate agencies

§  Financial institutions

§  Local Unions

§  Real Estate Owned (REO) organizations and agencies

  • Donations and Volunteer management planning

o   Volunteer coordination centers

o   Multi-Agency warehouse for in-kind donations reception

  • Identification of the vulnerable population including individuals with access and functional needs and the homebound
  • Identification of survivor assembly sites
  • Establishment of a phased repatriation plan in the event that citizens are displaced temporarily
  • Identification of POC for all activities

In addition there will be a brief overview of the Individuals and Households Program (IHP) programs including the sequence of delivery of assistance and requirements for individual and property eligibility.
