How to Throw More Balls Up Higher: Juggling Work-Life Balance in Demanding Times

Silicon Valley women leaders are challenged by the corporate and business pressures of high-stress, high-impact positions, while still juggling the personal demands of life and family, and squeezing in time for yourself. Each ball, from the heavy, urgent demands in a corporate environment to the home-and-personal demands of children, spouses, friends and others, to your own always-addressed-last personal needs for balance, health and growth - is important.

Yet each balls keeps coming at you from more angles, and each ball is coming at you faster! So how do you juggle these often-competing balls and what we can do to adjust our own expectations and that of others on us, in order to ease the load and the stress? Our speakers will share their stories, commiserate with us, and challenge us to re-evaluate how roles, our priorities, and our own expectations for ourselves.

Linda Holroyd, CEO, FountainBlue

FountainBlue is a management consultancy which provides executive coaching, tech advisory and other consulting services to tech leaders in corporations and start-ups in Silicon Valley and beyond.
At FountainBlue, we believe that leadership takes place ‘One Conversation, One Leader, One Organization at a Time’. Therefore, we work with tech execs and entrepreneurs to envision, strategize and create ‘What’s Next’ through our coaching and consulting services, as we move from an Age of Information to an Age of Personalization.
  • Since January 2006, we have produced monthly events, including our monthly When She Speaks series, in partnership with tech companies and leaders across Silicon Valley in order to convene and connect members of our community.
  • We support the development of high-potential corporate tech leaders through our monthly series, through individual one-on-one coaching sessions, through our monthly VIP breakfasts, through our facilitated roundtables, leadership workshops, and retreats and through our leadership and diversity-building consulting services
  • We provide marketing and strategic advisory services to early stage start-ups.  Our Pivot-or-Perish advisory services focus on working with clients to crystallize a strategy, engage a host of partners, and deliver momentum-building results.
  • We also track, document and report on business and technology trends so that we can better support the needs of our clients and community. By stimulating conversations and spreading knowledge about technology, business and leadership trends, we help build relationships, collaborations and results for our community of stakeholders.

About FountainBlue's When She Speaks Series

Launched in May 2006, FountainBlue's When She Speaks Women in Leadership Series provides ongoing networking, education and program benefits for 50-200 high tech women and men-who-support-having-women-in-leadership positions across Silicon Valley and beyond. On the second Fridays over lunch provided by our corporate hosts, we profile a panel of women senior executives in prominent high tech companies, speaking on a range of leadership challenges and issues for Silicon Valley high tech women in particular. Our series celebrates women leaders, stimulates critical thinking and conversation around leadership challenges and issues, empowers and inspires all participants, including the next generation of leaders, and builds a proactive, collaborative and supportive leadership community overall.
