Event Details

Next lafcpug meet is Wednesday, Febuary 22, 2012 beginning at 6:45PM - till we drop at the Gallery Theatre in Hollywood Ca.

Final Cut Pro X Version 10.0.3 has just been announced. It introduces Multicam Editing, Broadcast Monitoring, Media Relink, advanced Chroma Keying and many more new features. Join us Febuary 22, 2012 as we welcome Guru Larry Jordan who will show us all you need to see and know.

You can now bring your old FCP 7 projects into FCP X. Yes, thats right. No one thought this could be done. Even Apple said it could not be done, at least with "perfect fidelity." But a couple guys in an apartment in Burbank did it. Join Philip Hodgetts from Intelligent Assistance who will take us on a tour of 7toX, a $10.00 app that takes the old into the new.

Andrew Balis will show us how to prep our movies for Color Correction whether it is going to DaVinci Resolve or any other color correction system.

Plus, another round of Stump The Gurus, and of course World Famous Raffle.

Agenda (subject to change)

6:45- 7:15PM - Stump the Gurus

Andrew BalisShannon HartmanDavid Roth Weiss and the always popular TBA. as they will attempt to answer all of your questions and solve all of your problems concerning FCS and FCPX, Avid, Premiere Pro and anything else you can think of. If they can't solve your problem or answer your question, then you go home with a problem, but you still got out of the house, so that's not a bad thing.

7:20PM - 7:30PM - Welcome and Announcements
What's latest in the world of lafcpug? Also, we will bring up brand new Platinum sponsor AJA to say a few words and take a bow. This is your time to get up and say something you need to say.

7:30PM - 7:55PM - "Prepping your movie for Color Correction." Andrew Balis
So your movie is locked and you now wish to color correct and you haven't got a clue what to do. Andrew Balis will hold our hands and guide us through all you need to know about prepping your movie for Color Correction.

7toX for Final Cut Pro brings your Final Cut Pro 7 projects forward to Final Cut Pro X so you can use Apple’s powerful new professional editing tools to update or finish your older projects. The lightweight application is simple to use, with drag-and-drop support and progress information. 7toX translates important metadata from your Final Cut Pro 7 Project — including bins, clips and sequences — to a new Event in Final Cut Pro X with the highest fidelity of any translation application for Final Cut Pro. In addition, the application provides clear, detailed reporting after every transfer." It's just like magic.
