Anatomy of a Hack

Living in a compromised state is the new reality, and in our view there are now two types of organizations; those that know they've been breached, and those that don't yet know they've been breached.

In the past 18 months, a series of highly sophisticated and targeted cyber-attacks across the globe have revealed a seismic shift in the threat landscape. With both private and public-sector organizations targeted, attacks are becoming increasingly advanced and audacious. In March of 2011, RSA suffered a significant and highly publicized cyber-attack. This presentation will detail the elements of the attack, the lessons learned by RSA, and suggested best practices for continuing to combat Advanced Threats.

RSA will be presenting "Anatomy of an Attack." Our presenter Jeremy Eisenman is a Technical Consultant with RSA, The Security Division of EMC. Jeremy has been delivering this presentation around the region and is well versed in detailed elements of the attack and will provide a firsthand perspective of the impact on RSA and practical steps any organization can take to help prepare for the dynamic threat landscape we are faced with today.

This will be both a practical and technical presentation, but it would also be a good opportunity for the business stakeholders to learn why any organization is vulnerable to these types of attacks regardless of security posture.

Jeremy Eisenman

Jeremy is an Information Security Professional with over 16 years experience in networking, access control, business applications and host systems. Major emphasis is in the area of securing and scaling the availability of business applications in heavily regulated environments leveraging Security Information Management tools, GRC, and Data protection technologies.  Prior to joining RSA as a Sr. Technical Consultant, he served as a Principal Security Advisor for Expedia.com and various consulting/sales engineering positions at nCipher, Aventail, CA, and Attachmate.
