Folk artists from all over the Southern United States will convene at Fearrington Village on Friday and Saturday, February 16th and 17th, 2013 for the annual Folk Art Show. They'll turn every square foot of the big barn into exhibition space for marvelous outsider art. Mark your calendars now for one of our most popular community events of the year! This is a rare opportunity to purchase art directly from over 35 of the South’s finest Folk Artists at the Fearrington Folk Art Show! This annual event is an exhibition and sale of widely diverse artwork from self-taught Southern artists who are deeply influenced by the spirit of folk art, naïve art, primitivism and outsider art. Featured artwork includes whimsical paintings, fantastical robots, sculptures, pottery and more.
Don't miss the Collectors' Preview event on Friday night the 15th from 7-9pm. For the serious collector, this is a great opportunity to visit and have more in-depth conversations with the artists, to buy their work, and to learn more about this sometimes quirky but always fascinating world while enjoying wine and hors d'oeurves provided by the Fearrington House.
Admission to the show on Saturday and Sunday is $5 and includes readmission throughout the weekend. Admission to the Collectors' Preview is $35 and includes light hors d'oeurves along with admission to the show throughout the weekend. A full list of participating artists and events during the show is available at http://www.fearrington.com/village/folkart.asp.
