Saturday, October 22 will be a great day for all men in the lives of kids and we want you to join us to celebrate the important role we all play in their lives. Our responsibility as fathers and father figures is to guide and help them grow to be confident, caring young people. Join us as we kick off the inaugural Fathering Coalition for Washington State (FCWS) and spend some time having fun, learning and encouraging the involvement of all positive role models for our children. We’ll have entertainment by the RhythmPlayers, food, guest speakers (Jeff Kemp and Roger Fernandes), workshops and resources. All of this is FREE and we know that you want to be a great man for your kids, so show up and join the team.
10:00-10:40: Resources from around the area will display and demonstrate ways that dads and kids can connect in educational and recreational settings. Light food will be available.
10:45-11:15: Renowned native storyteller Roger Fernandes will share stories on fathering.
11:15-12:15: Former NFL quarterback and founder of Stronger Families Jeff Kemp will keynote on positive fathers and the strong characteristics they bring to a child’s life.
12:15-1:15: Lunch with musical entertainment by the Rhythm Players band
1:15-2:00: Dads will participate in a discussion on actions they will take to build positive relationships with their kids and complete a needs assessment/action plan. Wrap up the day.
