Event Details

Our Farm to Fork adult series of cooking classes emphasizes the journey real food takes from seed to plate! Beginning with an exploration of The Ecology Center’s orchard, veggie and herb gardens, and ending with the preparation and enjoyment of a meal.

In this class, you’ll gain hands-on, practical skills you can use in the kitchen to make healthy, self-sufficient food choices. Understand why cooking is a fun first step to enjoying real food that is fresh, local, organic and healthy for our environment!

Chef: Erika Tucker

Chef Bio: Growing up on a farm in Orange, California, Chef Erika Tucker is no stranger to wholesome food. She believes that cooking can be a great blessing when individuals know and use local, seasonal, and fresh ingredients. As a young adult, she attained professional training from the French Culinary Institute in New York City. She later went on to study under a variety of renowned chefs in hotels and restaurants around the world. In 2010, she became the executive chef of The Cellar in San Clemente, and in 2013 went on to become a private chef for a professional athlete.

Erika has been involved with The Ecology Center as the designated chef-in-residence, graciously devoting her creativity and passion for local, seasonal food as a participating Green Feast chef, Farm to Fork instructor, and the lead chef behind Community Table. She works as a freelance chef and caterer, produces her own line of products, and is working on her first cookbook.

Cancellation Policy:

We understand your plans may change. With that in mind, The Ecology Center has a very simple cancellation policy: regardless of whether you made your reservation online or by phone, we will give you credit toward a future program if you cancel at least 24 hours ahead of an event. Credit must be redeemed within 90 days of issue.

Unfortunately, as a small non-profit, we cannot give refunds or credits if cancelled with less than 24-hours notice or in the event of a no-show. This policy is in effect for all events and classes, except for Green Feast; due to high demand, no refunds or credits will be issued for our annual fundraising event.
