Today we announce with a mixture pride and sadness that Gigi B. Sohn will step down from her position as President & CEO of Public Knowledge. Gigi, along with two co-founders, started Public Knowledge in 2001. In 12 years Gigi has turned the organization from a team of one with a tiny budget and free office space into a team of 17 dedicated public interest advocates.
Gigi is heading to the Federal Communications Commission to join Chairman Tom Wheeler as the Special Counsel for External Affairs and we look forward to working with her as well as the rest of the FCC's appointees.
The staff at Public Knowledge would like to thank Gigi for all of her hard work, dedication and for all of the opportunities that she's given to each and every one of us since joining PK.
Friday, November 8th is Gigi's last day with us and we'd like to send her off with a bang. Please join us as we say our goodbyes and wish her the best of luck in her new endeavor with the FCC.
