FamiLab Biohacking Meetup
Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM (EST)
The FamiLab is starting a Biohacking Lab!
We are shooting for BSL1 safety guidelines first, which basically entails a walled room with ventillation, non-absorbant countertops, and a no food-or-drink area. This allows us to do some pretty standard things, like culture E. Coli in agarose petri dishes, and awesome things like genetically engineer it to glow.
That glowing part hopefully happens soon!
Topics also of interest:
- population studies
- hydroponic gardening
- dinoflagellates and algae
- genetic testing for practical purposes
Let's see where our second meeting takes us!
When & Where
