Event Details

Come and enjoy Henry Coe State Park!  Go on a nature walk with a volunteer naturalist and search for tarantulas on the move. Take a closeup view of live tarantulas and take your picture near them (no flashes please)  Enjoy games, contests,  and live music by The Tarantulas, a band of musical Coe Park volunteers and friends.

Food will be served from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.  Meal selections are: Santa Maria Steak, Marinated Chicken, Vegetarian or Hot Dog dinner.  All meals include ranch style BBQ beans, tossed salad and grilled French bread.  Soft drinks, water, juice, beer and wine will be available for nominal prices.  Parking (payable upon arrival) is an additional $8.00 per car. ($7.00 if there is anyone 62 or older in your car)  Please carpool if possible as parking space is limited.

This event is sponsored by the Pine Ridge Asso.  Advance tickets are required, and may be purchased using the order form above. You can conveniently print your tickets online or pickup at the event's Will Call Center.  Proceeds benefit operations and interpretive programs. Come and enjoy the fun!  Get tickets early as this event usually sells out quickly.Wildlife Education Rehabilitation Center (W.E.R.C.) will also be there with an educational exhibit.

Pine Ridge Association

The Pine Ridge Association was founded in 1975 to assist Henry W. Coe State Park staff in designing interpretive and educational programs and presenting the programs to the public.  PRA activities include guided walks, evening programs in the Visitor Center, and annual events such as the Mother's Day breakfast, the Coe Backcountry Weekend, and the fall TarantulaFest.  The Pine Ridge Association publishes a newsletter (The Ponderosa), maps, interpretive leaflets and books, and free informational handouts.
