WGIRLS - NYC CHAPTER
“WE” – That is what WGIRLS is all about.
“WE” are a group of professional women across the country united by a common goal; to serve disadvantaged women and children in our local communities.
The WGIRLS thrives on the diversity of our membership “WE” embrace everyone’s unique talents and gifts and encourage one another to use them in an effort to further our mission to serve women and children who are economically, educationally, or otherwise disadvantaged.
“WE” hail from a broad range of diverse backgrounds. “WE” are many different, ages, races, and have varied life goals. Some of us want to crush it in the boardroom; others are working part time and raising children at home. Some of us are entrepreneurs, some educators, lawyers, doctors, advertising executives and engineers.
“WE” are strong women. “WE are kind women. “WE” are successful women.
The WGIRLS INC was founded in 2007 by a small group of professional women in New York City who came together to donate their time, energy, and talents to assist disadvantaged women and children across NYC and, in times of international crisis, around the world.
Today the WGIRLS INC is an international organization with chapters throughout the United States and United Kingdom.
Each of the WGIRLS chapters is united under the mission to provide underprivileged women and children with the support and resources necessary to achieve health, happiness, and the ability to lead productive and successful adult lives. Additionally, in times of international crisis, the WGIRLS extend support outside the local community to address the global need.
WGIRLS chapters host several fundraising events throughout the year. Proceeds support customized WGIRLS programming within the local community and/or are donated to local, pre-selected, 501 C3 organizations that share our vision to support underprivileged women and children. The WGIRLS are proud to have supported more than 60 organizations over the past several years through volunteerism and donations of goods, services and grants.
In addition to fundraising, the WGIRLS have implemented customized programming to meet several outstanding needs in the community. Programs include outreach to disadvantaged children during the holidays, meals for guests of the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, and Project (G.L.A.M) Granting Lasting Amazing Memories which outfits thousands of economically disadvantaged girls for their high school prom.
